Oruro Carnival 2027 FAQs
When is the Oruro Carnival 2027 tour?
The tour takes place on February 6, 2027. Departure from La Paz is scheduled for 5:00 am. We leave Oruro at approximately 8:00 pm and expect to arrive back in La Paz at around 11:00 pm.
What is the difference between the Silver and Premium options?
Both options include round-trip transportation from La Paz, reserved seating, breakfast, lunch, refreshments and on-site coordinator assistance. Silver includes covered wooden grandstand seating on Avenida del Folklore. Premium includes an individual numbered seat in Plaza 10 de Febrero, next to the presidential viewing stand, as well as hotel pickup, private security and meals at selected hotels.
Where does the Oruro Carnival tour depart from?
Silver passengers meet at 4:30 am at the former Hotel Plaza on El Prado in La Paz. Premium passengers receive hotel pickup from approximately 4:00 am within central La Paz.
Are meals and drinks included?
Yes. Both options include breakfast, lunch, drinks and a snack. Premium meals are served at Hotel Gran Poder and Hotel Edén. Please inform us in advance about any dietary restrictions.
Are the Carnival seats reserved?
Yes. Both packages include reserved seating. Silver provides covered grandstand seating, while Premium offers an individual numbered seat in Plaza 10 de Febrero.
What should I bring to the Oruro Carnival?
Bring warm layers, comfortable shoes, sunscreen, sunglasses, personal medication, identification and some cash for personal expenses. Oruro’s weather can change quickly, so we recommend dressing in layers.
Does the tour include accommodation?
No. This is a full-day experience departing from La Paz before sunrise and returning at approximately 11:00 pm. The Carnival parade continues into the early morning, but our tour returns at the scheduled time. If you need accommodation in La Paz, we can quote it separately.
How can I book and pay?
Availability must be confirmed before booking. Your reservation is secured with a 50% deposit, and the remaining balance must be paid no later than 10 days before the Carnival. You can pay online through the “Book Now” button or contact us to ask about other payment methods. WeTravel will add its service fee before you confirm the payment.
What happens if I need to cancel?
If you cancel more than 10 days before the Carnival, 25% of the amount paid will be refunded, less any non-refundable payment, banking or transfer fees. Cancellations made 10 days or less before the Carnival and no-shows are non-refundable.
You may transfer the complete package to another person by notifying us at least 5 days in advance for Silver or 7 days in advance for Premium.

This is a full-day experience and accommodation is not included. Personal purchases and expenses are not included.
Meeting points and departure times will be confirmed according to the package booked. The itinerary may vary due to traffic, weather conditions or event organisation.

Altitude and Well-being
La Paz and Oruro are located more than 3,600 metres above sea level. We recommend resting, staying hydrated, eating light meals and avoiding alcohol. Many travellers drink coca tea or carry Sorojchi Pills to help relieve the discomfort associated with altitude sickness. Before taking any medication, consult a doctor or pharmacist to ensure it is suitable for you. If you experience severe or persistent symptoms, seek medical attention before travelling.
