When is the best time to visit the Uyuni Salt Flats?
It depends on the experience you're looking for. The dry season generally offers vast white landscapes and easier access across the salt flats. During the rainy season, a shallow layer of water can create the famous mirror effect. Both seasons offer spectacular scenery.
Will I see the famous mirror effect?
The mirror effect is most likely during the rainy season, usually between December and March. However, it depends on rainfall, water levels and weather conditions, so it cannot be guaranteed.
Is Incahuasi Island included in the tour?
Incahuasi Island may be visited during the dry season when access is possible. During the rainy season, the island is often inaccessible and the route is adjusted accordingly. The island entrance fee is not included.
Where does the tour start and finish?
The tour starts and finishes in Uyuni, Bolivia. Departure is normally around 10:30 AM, with a return at approximately 7:00 PM. Your exact meeting instructions will be provided once your booking is confirmed.
What's the difference between a shared and a private tour?
On a shared tour, you travel with other visitors in a 4x4 vehicle, usually with up to six travelers. A private tour provides a vehicle exclusively for your group of up to six people.
What should I bring on the tour?
We recommend sunglasses, sunscreen, comfortable clothing, a warm jacket, drinking water, a camera and some cash in Bolivianos for entrance fees and personal expenses. Waterproof footwear can be useful during the rainy season.
Are lunch and entrance fees included?
Lunch is included in the tour. Attraction entrance fees, additional drinks, personal purchases and optional activities are not included.
